Gregg Edeson

Gregg brings extensive experience in leading the development of the next-generation grid. His passion centers on the orchestration of a flexible energy ecosystem that provides a sustainable, resilient, and economically viable power supply.

Throughout his career, Gregg has led over two dozen grid modernization projects, crafting the operational roadmap behind advanced distribution management and end-user experience.

Gregg is currently leading the ReliabilityOne® program and PA’s advanced AI Predictive Asset Management initiative, iPredict™. He has worked, managed and directed over 10 distribution grid operation and customer engagement projects directly tied to the benefit realization of Grid Modernization objectives. Major utilities supported include: SDG&E, PG&E, PSE, FPL, PSE&G, ConEd and SCE.

Preventing critical power outages through applied data intelligence

• The speaker will talk about the recently developed solutions designed to continually collect and analyze high-frequency data signatures across hundreds of asset types. 
• He will present some of the advanced AI tools and algorithms to identify the warning signs/precursors of an imminent failure in near real-time, allowing proactive replacement of key infrastructure assets before they fail. 
• He will also present case studies of how the applications of machine learning and intelligence can dramatically reduce unplanned power outages. The results of these applications are improved customer satisfaction, reduction of maintenance costs, and increased safety rates.
