Hajer is an energy professional with over three years of experience in management consulting, business development and research. She has an interdisciplinary academic background in engineering, economics, and public policy. She obtained two Masters from the Technical University of Munich - Germany in both Engineering and Political Science. Hajer has several years of experience in the energy sector along the energy value chain and expertise in innovative energy products, energy trading, and European energy markets. Her professional interests lie around innovation in the energy industry and specifically the use of digital platforms and data analytics to improve user experience and optimize decision making.

As part of AFRY Management Consulting, she is a consultant in the Berlin office and has been with the company since the beginning of 2020. With AFRY, she had the opportunity to work on several projects involving data modeling in energy trading and in T&D. She has been involved with an interdisciplinary team at AFRY, developing and marketing the AI platform Deep Forecast which is a user-friendly drag-and-drop platform to manage data, train deep learning models, and produce forecasts.

Making AI for forecasts accessible through an enhanced user experience

In her presentation, Hajer Ben Charrada will discuss some of the AI platforms designed to make AI algorithms accessible to anyone in the industry, even those without prior knowledge of Machine Learning techniques and programming skills. During the presentation she will:

  • Explain the modeling approach for forecasting different values such as electricity demand, power prices, renewable generation, and more
  • Discuss case studies that have helped utilities companies produce better forecasts through deep learning techniques

  • Introduce AI platforms through which end-users from the utilities and power industry can create and train their own AI models, using them for forecasting various time series
